Brand MechaTronix
Innovation meets implementation – across system boundaries
Our projects are as diverse as our clients. What they all have in common is that they are looking for a development and manufacturing partner who fully understands their requirements and can support them every step of the way, from the initial concept design right through to series production.
With an interdisciplinary team comprising hardware and software developers, manufacturing staff, project managers and business professionals, we offer more than traditional development companies or contract manufacturers – we understand our clients’ challenges and provide them with the entire electronics and mechatronics value chain: complex development, rapid prototyping, comprehensive testing and certification, cost-optimised series production, as well as accompanying project management and corresponding project documentation.

Brand Mechatronix GmbH - an overview of our areas of expertise
We develop bespoke electronics in-house for our customers, catering to a wide range of applications, including industrial and automation technology, logistics, medical technology and automotive engineering. We cover every stage of the process, from design through to series production of the electronics, taking into account future requirements for series production or regulatory approval right from the initial design phase.
This means our customers can be confident that they will not only receive fully functional prototypes quickly, but can also bring their products to market in larger quantities, with the necessary certifications and tests, in a timely, predictable manner that is optimised for both cost and production – all from a single source and within the framework of a collaborative partnership.
(Embedded) software plays a central role in modern systems today, enabling a high degree of automation, increased efficiency and a wide range of functions in numerous everyday devices. Hardly any electronic assembly can function without software.
Against this backdrop, we develop a wide variety of software solutions for our clients: operating system-independent solutions for various microcontroller systems, as well as solutions for Linux, Android or Windows operating systems for use on industrial PCs, smartphones, tablets or in the cloud. In doing so, we cover the full spectrum of software development requirements, from hardware-oriented driver development and the integration of various AI methods – in particular machine learning algorithms – right through to intuitive graphical user interfaces.
We offer our customers solutions that go far beyond traditional electronics. Using intelligent software and the appropriate actuators and mechanical components, we create complex mechatronic systems for a wide range of applications – whether using innovative shape-memory alloy actuators from our joint venture, Ingpuls Dynamics in Bochum, or conventional actuator solutions. We develop concepts that are optimised in terms of both technology and manufacturing costs.
In doing so, we always take a holistic approach to the products – a housing is not only mechanical protection for the electronics against harsh and dirty environments, but is often also used for efficient heat dissipation from the electronics.
Through dialogue with our clients, we develop the ideal solution for innovative product ideas. Whilst our clients know their market best, we contribute our expertise in technical possibilities – resulting in tailor-made solutions for a wide variety of markets.
Our projects usually begin with a workshop at the client’s premises to work out all the technical requirements for the project, the necessary certifications and series production, as well as the final tests following production. In doing so, our clients benefit from our experience across a wide range of industries.
We advise our clients on all matters relating to conformity testing and certification, assist them during testing, or carry out tests ourselves in-house and at selected testing laboratories. We also prepare the necessary test documentation.
Our activities cover areas including electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility and radio frequency – whether for CE, UL or other national standards. With our many years of experience across a wide range of industries, we ensure that our clients’ products can be placed on the market in compliance with standards and legislation.
To ensure quality and reliability, every assembly undergoes a 100% functional test at our premises following production. As part of these tests, software, serial numbers or configuration data are often also programmed into the assemblies. All results are recorded for each assembly, thereby ensuring complete traceability and documentation.
We develop and manufacture our testing equipment in-house. To this end, we utilise a versatile and modular test concept developed by us, comprising standardised test equipment and interchangeable adapters custom-made for each assembly.
Embedded PC for construction machinery
As a manufacturer of high-purity, customised shape memory alloys, we developed an actuator assembly for a customer in the intralogistics sector. The assembly is characterised by its particularly compact dimensions, low weight, fast switching times and low cost, whilst remaining highly reliable – tests have achieved well over 1 million switching cycles.

Shape-memory alloy actuator assembly for intralogistics
A particular focus of our development work is on innovative mechatronic systems based on shape-memory alloys. Together with our sister company Ingpuls Dynamics GmbH, a joint venture between Brandholding KG and Ingpuls GmbH, a manufacturer of high-purity, customised shape memory alloys – we developed an actuator assembly for a customer in the intralogistics sector. The assembly is characterised by its particularly compact dimensions, low weight, fast switching times and low cost, whilst remaining highly reliable – tests have achieved well over 1 million switching cycles.
Development of a new power distribution unit for slope mowers
Some of our customers’ products have been in use for decades – and the electronic assemblies are often just as old. We regularly develop new, state-of-the-art assemblies for our customers that are at least as functional as the old ones and often offer new features as well. Thanks to simultaneous optimisation in terms of procurement and manufacturing, the new assemblies are often even cheaper than the old ones, meaning that the development costs are quickly recouped and new, high-performance and future-proof electronics are available for years to come.
One example of this is an assembly for a manufacturer of embankment mowers, which previously distributed power to various actuators largely in a passive manner. With a new microcontroller that communicates with the vehicle control system via CAN, the assembly was technically upgraded. At the same time, the assembly was adapted for modern manufacturing processes and the thermal management was optimised by incorporating the existing metal housing.
